CARTA ABIERTA A BOB CORKER

Dear Senator Bob Corker

I am very respecfully sending you a note to briefly thank you for the visit you are making to our country in the next few days’
I can assume that your agenda is already full, but I want to ask as a personal favor to please include in it, our petition for the re-opening of the Venezuelan Consulate in Miami,
A friend had a reflection that really shook my innermost feelings, her granddaughter who is already two years old, was born in this country does not have yet the nationality that she has the right to have, being daughter of Venezuelan parent, simply because we do not have the right to take the child to a Consulate to be registered.

I personally had a dear family member passed away 17 months ago, and still does not have a Death Certificate from the country to which she dedicated all her life to Public Service.

We are not second class citizens, Senator, there are over 100,000 venezuelans in Florida, as citizens we have the right to clain in any part of the world, in which we may find ourselves, of our laws and Constitution to be cumplied with, specially in the United States, a country where the law of the land is respected
so we respectfully ask you to claim in our behalf, before the respective authorities, to fulfill what is established in our Constitution and that the Consulate in Miami be reopened, ASAP

The official Gazzete of the Bolivarian Repulic of Venezuela - No 38.458, dated June 14, 2006, reads
38.458 DEL 14 DE JUNIO DEL 2006
Organica Law of Identification -Chapter 1, General dispositions.
Object - Article 1 - The present law has for object, to regulate and guarantee the identification to all Venezuelan cititzens that are inside and outside of the national territory, according to what is established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
We are not talking about State Policy, only the clamor and request of over 100,000 Venezuelans.

With our utmost sincere gratitude in the name of over 100,000 Venezuelans
